ZooPlus is a German producer of pet accessories and food founded in 1999 in Munich. It sells products in over 30 countries and employs 500 + people. It is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Despite the harsh competition, Zooplus has sales revenue of over €1.3 billion EUR.
The challenge
The company chose Wroclaw as its main logistics center. It consists of a large warehouse and distribution center that caters Central and Eastern Europe region. The complex is located at the outskirts of the city so when the company wanted to establish an office for the management, the location turned out to be a major challenge.
ZooPlus opted for a prestigious and comfortable location. Consequently, separate office space at the logistics center outside the city was no alternative. In addition, the office had to adapt to the growing number of employees – from one person to ten in one year-span.
The client’s need was to find the space appropriate for receiving guests and hosting meetings with contractors. The office had to be prestigious and classy. Commuting to the city’s outskirts and business talks in the warehouse were no option.
Our solution
Our team of experts carefully analyzed the demands of ZooPlus. The additional challenge was the scarcity of upmarket customizable office spaces in the city center. The available options did not meet the client’s expectations, therefore we had to act unconventionally.
Thanks to our 360° advisory and market recognition, we presented our client with an office that was not yet available in public offers. The space we proposed was located in the office complex still under construction. We convinced the owner to prepare the deal at a very early stage and by the time the building was completed, we had a complete offer that met all the requirements of Zooplus. Employees of the pet products manufacturer could immediately move into the new office.
The outcome
Zooplus moved into a comfortable serviced workspace provided by SmartOffice in Retro Office House. The building is located in the heart of Wrocław, near the Old Town and in close proximity to the City Hall and the Train Station.
The building was designed by a famous Polish studio Kuryłowicz & Associates. It features two internal patios and connects the history of Wrocław with lively office culture.
